Vitaly Ivanov, Russian head coach: “I’m pleased with the organization of this whole tournament but we didn’t play well.”
Russian goalkeeper Denis Mikhalina was the Player of the match: “I’m happy with the title but this is not what I came here for.”
Austrian coach Jörg Merten was happy with the experience his players got: “Someone has to be last and unfortunately it was us this time. I’m not disappointed, I do feel bad we didn’t do better for our country, but overall, it was a chance for our players to see how handball can be played and how much more we have to work to get to that high level.”
“It was a great experience for me and I’m happy we got to be here even though it is sad to be the last.”
Austria ends the tournament at the last place while Russia takes the 15th place.
